The Pacific Recycling Foundation (PRF), in collaboration with Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited (WRFL) and Malhana Cloud Kitchen (MCK), has embarked on an innovative sustainability initiative, marked by the official launch of digital business cards designed for the management and staff.
In response to the pressing need for eco-conscious solutions in today’s era, PRF, WRFL, and MCK are taking a significant stride toward integrating sustainability into their operations.
PRF Founder and CEO of Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited, Mr. Amitesh Deo, emphasised that the adoption of digital business cards not only represents PRF’s commitment to environmental sustainability but also signifies their embrace of modern technology for enhanced efficiency and a reduced ecological footprint.
“The launch of our Digital Business Cards showcases our dedication to environmental stewardship and our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable practices within the industry,” stated Mr. Deo.
He underscored the substantial role that going digital plays in waste reduction, emphasising that this initiative contributes significantly to addressing the waste management crisis in the country.
“This launch marks a crucial step in combating the waste management crisis, and we encourage both public and private sectors to join us on the journey of integrating sustainability into their organisations and businesses.”
Mr. Deo highlighted that the shift to digital technology not only promotes efficiency but also prevents physical waste from ending up in landfill and dumpsites.
“The future of waste management lies not just in investing in dumpsites and landfills or collecting litter from our oceans; it lies in product design – designing out waste,” reiterated Mr. Deo.
The Digital Business Cards operate as an electronic representation of traditional business cards. Recipients can easily access contact details, professional profiles, and other relevant information, promoting efficient communication while significantly reducing the environmental impact associated with traditional printed business cards. Information on the cards can be effortlessly scanned by simply bringing it close to a smartphone, enhancing accessibility and user convenience.
PRF, WRFL, and MCK’s key partners, development partners, CSOs, members of the private sector, and executives of the Koronivia Business Council attended the launch event, which was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, Hon. Manoa Kamikamica.
