Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited is thrilled to announce its selection as a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) Awards, set to take place in Sydney, in November 2024.
WRFL has been nominated for the Improved Recycling System Award, a significant recognition of the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and recycling efforts.
WRFL has been confirmed as a finalist among industry giants, AB Food & Beverages Australia Pty Limited, Circular Plastics Australia (PET) – a joint venture between Pact Group and Cleanaway Waste Management, Asahi Beverages, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, and Henkel Australia Pty Ltd.
Being the only Fijian company to be nominated and now to be included as a finalist is a monumental achievement that underscores the impact of WRFL’s sustainability initiatives over the past three decades.
The Founder of Pacific Recycling Foundation and Director of WRFL, Amitesh Deo, expressed the company’s excitement.
“It is an incredible honour for us to be recognised alongside some of the largest and most innovative companies in Australia.
This nomination is not just a win for WRFL but for all of Fiji. We are proud to represent our nation on such a prestigious platform, showcasing the hard work and dedication we have invested in sustainability over the years,” said Deo.
As a finalist, WRFL is calling on all Fijians to rally behind the company as it represents Fiji’s sustainability efforts on the global stage.
