Malhana Apartments Launched as a Sustainability Arm to Strengthen Grassroots Recycling Advocacy

Malhana Apartments has been launched in Westfield, Legalega, Nadi, as part of a strategic initiative to strengthen the long-term sustainability of Pacific Recycling Foundation’s recycling advocacy and grassroots programs across Fiji.

The development represents an important step in ensuring that PRF’s work – spanning nationwide recycling awareness, behavioural change initiatives, and empowerment of the Collection Pillars of Recycling – continues to grow and remain sustainable for years to come.

The development of Malhana Apartments represents an investment of over $1.4 million, undertaken through an investment loan with a local bank.

Income generated through Malhana Apartments will directly support PRF’s initiatives, allowing the Foundation to reinvest in programs that advocate proper waste management while improving the dignity and livelihoods of CPR.

The initiative has also created four new employment opportunities, contributing to local economic activity while supporting the operational needs of the apartments.

The Managing Director of Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited, Joseph Inoke, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to building practical and sustainable models that strengthen environmental and recycling advocacy while supporting communities on the frontlines of Fiji’s recycling efforts.

“This initiative is about ensuring that our work can continue to expand and reach more people. Malhana Apartments represents a sustainability arm that allows us to reinvest into our mission,” Inoke said.

Located at Lot 38 Westfield, Legalega, Nadi, just five minutes from Nadi International Airport, Malhana Apartments offer fully furnished two-bedroom accommodation designed for comfort, privacy, and mindful living. Set within a quiet residential area with convenient access to Nadi and Lautoka, the apartments cater to families, business travellers, remote workers, and extended-stay guests.

Inoke said guests who stay at Malhana Apartments are not only choosing a comfortable accommodation option but are also directly contributing to sustaining PRF’s grassroots work across Fiji.

He is encouraging partners, organisations, and visitors travelling to Fiji’s Western Division to consider Malhana Apartments when visiting Nadi, Lautoka, and surrounding areas.

He said by supporting this initiative, partners are helping strengthen a sustainability model that reinvests directly into recycling advocacy and community impact – ensuring that Fiji’s journey toward proper waste management continues to move forward.
