Pacific Recycling Foundation and Swire Shipping have re-committed to strengthening and enhancing collaboration in 2023 to further their shared vision of influencing behaviour change towards recycling and those involved in this space, through targeted initiatives.
PRF’s Founder and CEO of Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited, Mr. Amitesh Deo said he is delighted to announce that Swire Shipping has reaffirmed its support towards championing issues in the recycling space by partnering for the 2023 Global Recycling Day celebrations, for the third consecutive year.
Mr. Deo said this is a historical partnership as PRF and Swire Shipping have been collectively strengthening efforts towards best practices of waste management and recycling through tailor-made programs at the grassroots level, since 2020.
He said Swire Shipping’s commitment to partner for the third Global Recycling Day celebrations has further deepened their collaboration.
“PRF’s partnership with Swire Shipping signifies a shared commitment to environmental sustainability.”
“I’m extending my appreciation to Swire Shipping for contributing resources towards PRF and WRFL’s recycling events and programs such as the ‘Global Recycling Day’ and ‘Recycling on the Go (ROG) Ambassadors’ program at Jai Narayan College, designed to influence behaviour change in 900 plus students and teachers,” said Mr. Deo.
Mr. Deo said PRF and Swire Shipping’s collaboration has grown from strength to strength over the last three years, and they will be making further announcements regarding the upscaling of their programs soon.
“Our journey with Swire Shipping will always remain special as we jointly launched PRF’s ‘I Recycle Hub’ concept in 2022, and this year’s GRD celebrations will mark the first anniversary of the introduction of a fundamental tool for visible and practical participation in recycling,” said Mr. Deo.
