This new vehicle opens doors to previously inaccessible communities, amplifying our outreach efforts – Deo
Asco Motors Fiji is proud to partner with the Pacific Recycling Foundation (PRF) in their mission to promote sustainable waste management practices throughout Fiji. The recent handover of a Toyota Hilux Twin Cab to PRF is a testament to our commitment to supporting this vital organisation.
“We recognise the immense challenges faced by PRF in tackling the issue of waste in Fiji,” says Mr. Ronald Kumar, CEO of Asco Motors Fiji. “This vehicle will provide PRF with the much-needed resources to expand their reach, particularly in remote and underserved communities.”
Mr. Kumar highlights the potential for the Hilux to amplify PRF’s outreach efforts significantly. “By facilitating access to previously inaccessible areas, the vehicle will allow PRF to engage with more people and communities, raising awareness and encouraging sustainable practices.”
Asco Motors’ support for PRF goes beyond the vehicle donation. The company previously collaborated with PRF on the Waste Collection Sector Mapping Exercise, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability.
“We are confident that this partnership will continue to grow and positively impact the environment and communities in Fiji,” Mr. Kumar concludes.
“Asco Motors remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote a cleaner and healthier future for all.”
PRF Founder, Mr. Amitesh Deo said it was a significant day for PRF as it was the first time a corporate organisation partnered with the foundation with the provision of a vehicle to assist with PRF’s operations.
In a landscape where PRF’s resources are strained due to Fiji’s extensive waste sector and challenges associated with it, Mr. Deo praised Asco Motors for the timely handover, emphasising the dire need for resource backing that Asco Motors fulfilled.
“This new vehicle opens doors to previously inaccessible communities, amplifying our outreach efforts,” said Mr. Deo.
The vehicle would fuel PRF’s momentum in the realm of proper waste management, facilitating visits to remote areas and strengthening the organisation’s core functions.
“With the addition of this vehicle, the Pacific Recycling Foundation is poised to extend its reach. The vehicle serves as a gateway to remote and challenging-to-access locations, unlocking the potential to impart crucial awareness of sustainable practices to students and communities that were once beyond PRF’s grasp,” said Mr. Deo.
He said PRF’s resources have been strained under the weight of escalating requests from schools and communities, a testament to the pressing need for recycling initiatives.
The PRF Founder stated the surge in demand underscores the urgency to broaden their outreach, making the vehicle’s contribution even more pivotal in meeting these escalating requests for awareness of proper waste management.
Recalling Asco Motors’ prior collaboration during the Mapping Exercise of the Waste Collection Sector, Mr. Deo expressed gratitude for their continued support and partnership.
