Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited Launches I-Recycle Station to Strengthen Recycling Infrastructure

New design bridges innovation, practicality, and sustainability to boost recycling rates and reduce landfill and dumpsite waste

Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited has announced the launch of the I-Recycle Station, a new addition to WRFL’s recycling infrastructure that marks the next stage in the evolution of the company’s I-Recycle model.

Developed as an enhanced upgrade between the I-Recycle Hub and the Frames & Bags Setup, the I-Recycle Station is designed to meet the growing demand for practical, durable, and cost-effective recycling solutions, while supporting WRFL’s efforts to increase recycling rates and prevent recyclables from ending up in the landfill and dumpsites.

The new structure features a roofing system that protects recyclables from weather exposure, a key improvement for outdoor and semi-covered collection points. The design supports a wide range of users, including industrial zones, corporates, and hospitality sites, providing a clean and organised space for waste segregation.

“The I-Recycle Station represents a new chapter in how we think about recycling infrastructure in Fiji,” said Joseph Inoke, Managing Director of Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited.

“It is a solution born out of experience, understanding what worked for some of our partners and where we could make recycling more accessible, affordable, and sustainable for others.”

Inoke said the design also reflects WRFL’s commitment to continuous learning and adaptation.
“Over the years, we have seen how different environments require different solutions,” he explained.

“For some, the I-Recycle Hub was ideal, but others needed a simpler and more cost-effective setup that still maintained the same level of efficiency and accountability. The I-Recycle Station is that balance – practical, strong, and scalable.”

In addition to its physical improvements, the I-Recycle Station provides the same integrated services as the I-Recycle Hub, a comprehensive recycling program including training, collection, sorting, and processing of recyclables, and data monitoring and reporting.
“This is more than just infrastructure,” Inoke added.

“It is about reinforcing a culture of accountability and giving organisations the right tools to participate in Fiji’s recycling movement with confidence and pride.”

The I-Recycle Station symbolises WRFL’s continued investment in innovation and its efforts to make recycling easier, more efficient, and more visible.
